Rhydian, our workshop manager, will be competing again in this years SkillBuild competition being held in Coleg Sir Gar on Thursday June 17th. SkillBuild is the largest multi-trade competition in the country for construction trainees and apprentices. The competition is run by ConstructionSkills with the endorsement of UK Skills, the competition managers for the bi-annual WorldSkills competitions. Success at the SkillBuild regional heats will give entrants the opportunity to challenge for a place on the WorldSkills UK team and progress to compete at the 2011 WorldSkills competition in London. So the sky is the limit!

The regional event will take place on 24th February 2010 in Pembrokeshire College, Haverfordwest, and this year Carl Povey, Director of Bugols will be judging the Carpentry section.

On Friday September 4th, Rhydian is being interviewed and filmed for the program Bro for S4C. It is presented by Shan Cothi and Iolo Williams. Each week it will feature a different area of Wales. They are filming Rhydian at work due to his great success as Apprentice of the Year during 2008
We would like to congratulate Rhydian on passing his NVQ L3 in Bench Joinery and for getting a distinction in his knowledge test. He has been promoted to floor manager.
Also Lloyd has just completed his second year in Cardigan college and is staying on with us to complete his third year.Two new members of staff have also joined our team, Joe Lewis from Narberth is starting his first year in Pembrokeshire College and Richard Cope from Pentlepoir will be starting his second year. We wish them all good luck.
